We were planning to sell our own house, and my husband said — if we are going to do this, get the licence and do it ourselves. So I did. I was working in HR at an SME at the time, and what started as a practical decision turned into the thing I actually wanted to do. I left the HR job and went full time.
More than a decade later, the part I still find most satisfying is not the closing. It is the point, years afterwards, when a client tells me the property has done what we said it would do — they have moved up, the asset has appreciated, and the plan we drew on a piece of paper actually held.
I am running a business, not working a job, and that changes how I work with people. I have no quota to hit with your money. I listen to what you want, I make recommendations based on your profile and your situation and where you want to be in five years, and then I give you the options and my honest read on them. I will not push and I will not insist. That is not a sales technique — I just do not think it produces good decisions.
The difference between a good and a bad property decision can cost you years. That is what I am actually protecting.
Patience is not a soft skill in this job. The clients who do best are the ones who were allowed to think.
I enjoy the analysis — affordability, market data, entry and exit. The property search only starts once the maths is settled.
Your property should serve your long-term goals. If a move does not do that, I will say so, even when it costs me the deal.
Named a 5-Year PropNex Ambassador at the PropNex Ambassador Awards 2024 — an internal recognition awarded for sustained performance over five consecutive years rather than a single strong year.
Behind every transaction is a PropNex team — marketing, admin, mortgage and legal referrals — which is what lets me stay on the parts of your deal that actually need me.
I am up at five most mornings and in the gym before work starts at 8.30. I run twice a week, and I race Hyrox — badly at first, and then progressively less badly, which is roughly how I approach everything else too.
I mention it because clients tend to notice the same trait in both places. I like a plan, I like knowing the numbers, and I do not particularly enjoy shortcuts. Outside of that: travel, cooking, volunteering, and a genuine interest in meeting people whose lives look nothing like mine.
No pitch. Just a conversation about where you are and what your options look like.
